Updated: Xbox Live Down, Microsoft Investigating (Its Up!)

If you're having trouble signing onto Xbox Live, you are not alone. Microsoft is aware of the issue and is "actively investigating," according to the official Xbox Support Twitter account. The Xbox Live status page at the time of writing does not report any issues.

Some of the reported issues from our forum include freezing when sending invites and being unable to sign back on.

UPDATE 1: Xbox Live status has updated with the below info.

Viewing messages

How are you going to say that? This isnt even as bad as sonys being down for 2 months that should have brought their rep down a lot more than this

Actually no. You can't send invites or messages but some people can't get on at all. My friend just got kicked off randomly, too.

I literally was on the guide and it said I had 16 friends online. Like 10 minutes later, it said I had I had 5 friends online. I thought nothing of it and turned off the XBox to go to bed. I play on the computer and say topics talking about XBox acting up. I found out that XBox is acting up. So I turned it back on and sure enough, everything that everyone is saying is true. But I can sign in to XBL.
