GameStop no longer taking PS4 pre-orders

4.6
A spokesperson for GameStop has said that retailer has stopped taking pre-orders for the PS4.

A GameStop spokesperson has told GameInformer that "due to high demand for the system, GameStop is not currently taking additional store reservations for the PlayStation 4."

The GameStop website has listed the console as "sold out," but interested customers can submit their email address to receive new information.

Last month, a memo from Sony was leaked telling GameStop to accept an unlimited number of PS4 pre-orders, and to ignore previously defined PS4 allotment limitations. This came after Sony already warned that PS4 demand "may well outstrip supply."

originally a ps4 one

Yeah, if they take too many orders, Gamestop won't have room for anything but PS4 consoles. :p

Excuse the comment below, I was going to say something about Call of Duty being sold out, then people saying "lolol they probaly just said they sold out to look cool, call of duty sucks." Then I wasn't going to say it, but I forgot to delete it.

Gabardine Well, here's some legit evidence that the ps4 is 'winning the console war'.

Not necessarily. And yes, this is an Xbox gamer speaking, but I do play both consoles.
SONY saying this does not instantly mean they are "winning the console war", theoretically it means they can't keep up with the demand needed, this could be for plenty of reasons, maybe they quite simply can't build the systems fast enough.

I can almost guarantee you this is just a temporary claim by SONY because it makes the company look like they are demolishing the opposition, when, in reality, SONY and Microsoft, whether you like it or not, really are neck and neck in this so-called "console war"

Please SONY fanboys, don't start quoting me and attacking me, I'm more than willing to have a civilised conversation. But don't start throwing insults like most fanboys of consoles.

To be honest, PS4 has more pre-orders than the Xbox One at all game shops/retailers. Play.com has PS4 in 3rd position in pre-orders with Xbox One 4th and at Amazon PS4 is 4th with Xbox One 13th. Its pretty clear that the PS4 currently has more pre-orders as almost every retailer seems to be running out of pre-orders for the PS4.

They are both going to be great consoles but the PS4 definatly has the edge over the Xbox One.

The only edge PS4 has over Xbox One is the price, and maybe a bit better graphics.

P.S. I'm a Sony fanboy.

The PS4 is doing better in pre-orders because of all the negativity Microsoft got from the Xbox One DRM issues and Kinect issues. I'm a 360 user and I wont be getting either consoles for a while yet, but if I was going to, I too would go for the PS4.

That's because people are cheap and tend to go with the cheaper product not necessarily the better product...

Starks This is either good or bad news for Sony. They're either cracking the sales and out-selling Microsoft or their supply can't keep up with their demand.

Hopefully they can meet the demand once the console releases. If they don't then i will be disappointed.
