Petition wants Microsoft to bring back Xbox One's DRM
"This was to be the future of entertainment. A new wave of gaming where you could buy games digitally, then trade, share or sell those digital licenses. Essentially, it was Steam for Xbox. But consumers were uninformed, and railed against it, and it was taken away because Sony took advantage of consumers uncertainty.
We want this back. It can't be all or nothing, there must be a compromise."
This petition follows Microsoft's reversal of their original DRM policies for the Xbox One. Controversially, the Xbox One originally needed to connect to the internet every 24 hours to verify that multiple users weren't accessing the one copy of a game; games that would have been permanently linked to your account, stored on your console or in the cloud, and shareable with up to 10 other people.
Following Sony's announcement that the PS4 wouldn't have always-online or game sharing restrictions at E3, and a public outcry from "uninformed" members of the public, Microsoft reversed these policies. This means that the console essentially operates the same as the Xbox 360, where games are not linked to your account and still require the physical disc to play.
Currently the petition has around 6,000 supporters out of a needed 7,500.

invalidslinkyRATFinvalidslinkyModerzFM I'm glad I'm a PC gamer, but if the Petition passes again (Don't know why it would) I will 100% not get a Xbox One. The DRM was the only thing that was wrong with the Xbox One originally. Why would they go back, and shot themselves in the head once again?
What didn't you like about the DRM? You could of traded games. Like you do now with no fee involved. You could give your friend your disk.(Don't know why you would, you could share digitally with the family share with 10 of your friends.) Get sales like steam does. And the 24 hr check in is not even that bad.
yh but what if we want to play offline? they would basically be restricting us if they got rid of that but kept the rest then i would be happy
Then there is an offline system. Xbox 360. I want this to be a NEXT-GEN console, not just a glorified 360. Ps4 is a $400 Ps3.
Thats all it is I mean the snes was a glorified nes and game system is a "glorified" version of the last unless its a brand new console idea

Microsoft really should allow both. If you buy a game digitally, it should go into your 'game library' which in turn could/should be shared with your '10 friends/family'. If you buy a disk based version then this should not be an option. (but you would be able to resell your game)
Obviously the kink with microsofts original DRM idea was that it was basically turning into 'Steam'. I don't think microsoft would have been able to provide constant game sales like steam does. Microsoft has a presence in retail stores unlike Steam. It wouldn't be in microsofts best interest to undercut themselves or companies they are in bed with.

By NEXT-GEN console, you mean NO-LIFE console right? Because believe it or not, not everybody goes on every single day. Especially on vacations and for soldiers over seas.
@Invalidslinky: yeah well what if we want games like titanfall the division etc... then what do we do? ******
Titan fall is gonna be on 360 soo...

You are ridiculously dumb. I want a console that is completely different not just upgraded specs of the previous console. I was excited about all the new changes and what not because I don't have any issues with trading games and connecting online. Not to sound rude or anything, but I don't care about people who have problems with either of those. Most of the community doesn't have problems with it, it is just the select few who choose to speak out against it.
it is pointless people moaning they want it back because microsoft are not going back

1.Why would you bring an xbox on vacation?
2.Microsoft didn't forget about our soldiers. They will continue to support the 360.
