Deus Ex: The Fall jams your gun on jailbroken iOS devices

4.5
Those playing Deus Ex: The Fall, which launched for iOS for $6.99, on jailbroken iDevices have found none of their guns work – not even the tranquilizer gun.

The limitation was first outed on Reddit, with many reviews in the App store describing the game's surprise "feature." The prompt above occurs right after the movement tutorial in the game, at the outset of the shooting tutorial.

Jailbreaking refers to the act of unlocking functionality within iOS devices not originally intended for the end user. While not illegal, it does void the warranty of the device in question.

This is really stupid, because a user can do what he/she wants with their product, it has nothing to do with these guys unless they get the game in illegitimate ways, and I'm pretty sure that it's still possible to pay for an app on jailbroken devices.

Well game developers don't want people pirating their games.

If you have a jailbroken device but actually paid for the game and it still jams the guns, then that's unfair to to people who actually bought it. I know it would definitely irk me if that happened to me.

it jams the gun on cracked ipa's so it wont matter jailbroken or not.

Well if you think of it that way then it's kind of stupid if you ask me..

I mean, it's not like anyone can install xCon and play the game...

Yes but correct me if I'm wrong but even if you didn't pirate the game, it still jams your gun.
