White Xbox One dev kit spotted

A picture of a white Xbox One development kit has been leaked to Reddit.

As spotted by Neowin, the unit in question is based around the same form factor and overall design of the console first revealed by Microsoft in May, and offers a peek at what a different colour retail model could look like in the future.

Apparently, the white dev kit is not the most recent version Microsoft has provided to game studios.

A developer reportedly confirmed to be working on an Xbox One game said on Reddit: "The zebra ones were also earlier devkits. We've gone though several revisions since the original alpha kit (giant server case) and the current one we have looks like the launch version."

Why is this news if it's only a dev kit thats older than the current dev kits which are stated as being black? If the dev kits have already been silver and white (now zebra too), yet the most recent version of the dev kit is black; why do need to know there might be more colors? Anyone could just buy a custom done case rather than wait a whole year just to see if Micro$oft is going to sell a similar Xbone but with a zebra case rather than black.

You think so? I like the black more, how it is all Glossy and what not. But that's what I like, it would be cool if this is it though.

Dunno the legitimacy of this console tbh, might just be a person who made the shell of the console and changed the 360 controller a bit

I cannot see them launching a white xbox untill well after the black one. We see it every time as just another way to put the prices back up after six months of sales.

CraigFromIreland I would say they just custom painted it themselves.


if thats the case how did they get hold of the Xbox One to start with :P


its a dev kit, as in given to developers to develop games, they cant just make games for a new console without having it physically for testing.

And it probably wasn't custom painted, dev kits look different from retail consoles always so they don't give someone it on accident.
