Xbox One controllers, headsets available for pre-order

4.6
The Xbox One controller is available for pre-order on the Microsoft Store for $59.99. The store is also offering the controller with a Play and Charge kit for $74.99, with the kit priced at $24.99 on its own. Lastly, Microsoft's Store lists its "must-have" wired headset for $24.99.

Amazon also has the Xbox One controller available for pre-order, listed for a Wednesday, November 27 release, just one day before Thanksgiving. The Microsoft Store still has the "Day One" edition of the Xbox One console listed as being available in November. Whether Amazon's date holds up remains to be seen, but the controller is also available for pre-order at GameStop and Best Buy. Sony's DualShock 4 controller for the PlayStation 4 is also available for pre-order, and is also around $60.

Fawk Wait so will the Xbox One controllers be compatible with the xbox 360?

Why would they make a next-gen controller work with a previous-gen console?

Xbox One Controllers remind me of the original xbox controllers. Still if I were getting it I would pre-order.

Madpup70 1: If you don't throw your controller around while rage losing games, then your controller should last close to the life time of your console regardless, which isn't to say that somethings don't just wear down over time, but in most cases if treated well the 360 controller should have never been broken. Anyone who claims that they "wore out" in a few months or a year were throwing them on the ground/wall/door/dog in anger. Hey my roommates controllers never lasted longer than a few months either. I think he spent about $250-$350 a year just on new controllers... but he also always had holes in his walls too.

2: A "must have" headset? But you just claimed that the kinect would work perfectly for xbox live. More Microsoft BS. Doing what they can to make it look like your getting your money's worth when your going to have to cough up so much money compared to PS4. Lets compare

PS4: Your system operates without the PS Camera, giving you the option to go without it or buy it for some extra features. You also get a rechargeable battery in your controller with a charging cable and a headset for online gaming if you didn't have one already. Add in a year of PS+ at it is $450 total, $500 if you decide you want the camera.

XBONE: Your system will not function without the kinect, which adds around $100 extra bucks to what the system would have cost you if it could function without it. Now if you only want one controller and you don't want to spend hundreds on replacing normal AA batteries, you need to buy a $25 dollar charging kit cause Microsoft somehow couldn't fit a rechargeable batter in the hulking controller. Next, if you don't want to be the source of noise pollution to your XBONE Live Friends cause they have to listen to every single voice in your living room, you have to fork over another $25 on a cheaply made headset. Finally for your XBONe Live services you have to pay $60 a year. This makes your total cost $610.

PS4: $450 flat ($500 with camera)
PXBONE: $610

That is a poor comparison, saying you want the Xbox One to work without Kinect is like saying you want a PC without a CPU, the Kinect is an essential part of the architecture and people are bashing it before they try it!

the whole thing about the kinect " changing the whole game experience" is a joke. it didn't change the gaming experience for the previous console, so I highly doubt it will do it this time around. I would be highly surprised if 10 percent of the ppl who bought the Kinect still play actively after a month. None of my friends do; nor do I. I just don't see why I can't buy the console, hook it up, leave the kinect in the box and shove it in the closet where it belongs. The kinect is not needed. Oooh you mean u can swipe tabs by using my hands when I could just use the controller that's already in my hands. Ooh I can say Xbox on when I could simply press the button. The reason they're shoving this down our throats is because they know that no one would buy separately.( which would be a huge loss considering they claim it cost just as much as the xbox itself to make, which I doubt)
I could guarantee you that if MS had an official poll asking if ppl preferred the x1 w/ or w/out the kinect, it would be a 90 to 10 for w/ out.

I find it really stupid that they are pricing the controllers at 60 dollars. I am probably going to go with a wired one until the wireless drops in price
