Call of Duty: Ghosts dev teases 'Squads' mode

Infinity Ward executive producer Mark Rubin has taken a tip from Battlefield's Twitter strategy and released a short grainy video teasing a new feature in Call of Duty: Ghosts.

The six-second teaser clip appears to show a menu screen that looks much like a menu of the Call of Duty series, and clearly shows a 'Squads' menu screen.

There are two visible sub-menu options on the screen, one a simple 'Options' and the other reading 'Online Play'. A third option is blurred out.

The developer is yet to reveal a co-op mode for Ghosts, and 'Squads' could be the replacement to the Modern Warfare series' Spec-Ops mode, which allowed two players to co-operate in small sub-missions.

Infinity Ward studio community coordinator Candice Capen has previously told fans that Ghosts will "have a cooperative mode of sort" after rumours that the long-standing Spec-Ops mode had been scrapped.

While no further information was teased today, the appearance of a Squads mode would suggest co-operative gameplay in similar manner to Spec-Ops mode but with more than two players.

Rubin said in July that CoD fans should look forward to a multiplayer reveal in "mid-August" - suggesting a possible Gamescom reveal - when we will likely hear more on Squads as well as competitive multiplayer.

i sense someone was dropped on their head as a child... if you like battlefield so much, why are you even reading this. and call of duty copied battlefield? please tell me how so, bc they used the word squad? rlly? cod5 you could be put in squads. why didnt you say they copied them there. or should i say battlefield copied call of duty since call of duty is older. so technically battlefield copied everything. [yes ik that im being stupid with that last comment but it is say as you stated]


LOL COD is older... really? maybe you should google that buddy. And no not because they used the word "squad" because BC2 had a game mode called onslaught google that while your at it.

BF-9 Including BF4
CoD-10 Including CoD Ghosts.

Made 1 year apart but CoD has a 1 Game lead :P


That doesent even matter. And BF is not released every year.


Why would you want one game per year. Imagain being givin like 230 days to create a game. There can only be one result: Reused, same old Sh**

Yes, I realised that I had misread the news article after I had posted the comment. There is no need to say I was "Dropped on my head as a child" Thats just a stupid thing to say. Please don't say battlefield copied everything Because Battlefield came out in 2002 and CoD came out In 2003, not to mention the games are completely different and. Oh and I am reading this because it came up in the Xbox news section, I am interested in all things gaming and if you didn't realise CoD is a dying series, I would be surprised to see it past 2015.
