Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the next SimCity?

The recently "launched" Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has the makings to be a very stellar game, too bad only those who preordered and the press can see. The much mocked SimCity launch earlier this year was a hot topic among gamers, the current handling of A Realm Reborn is very much the same situation. Square Enix has decided it best to completely suspend digital sales of the game while they alleviate connection issues. This at face value sounds like a obvious way to proceed forward but at over a week into suspended sales and one seemingly failed network stability related patch later, they have now suspended character creation on every single server.
Based on their current record from launch to now, do not expect to be playing A Realm Reborn any time soon.
What are your views on the subject? Has Square Enix done everything they can to assist both customers and possible customers or have they left them out in the cold?
It's a well developed game, but they are just leaving their community in limbo. Stopping digital sales, with no announcement on when they are starting sales again.
Character creation cancelled for what seems like the millionth time on all servers, even after the 150% expansion on them.
I may continue to play the game, but if they treat their community like this for a continued time I'm going back to other MMOs.
slapshot101 I don''t know. I really don't think this will be worth the time to see it get developed. Hopefully it will be a good game that would provide for a few hours of entertainment.
Yeah, hopefully more than a few hours for the fans of the series :3
