Call of Duty: Ghosts tracking to be 'most pre-ordered' game of year

Gamestop's VP of merchandising has put the kibosh on Call of Duty not being its blockbuster self this year.

"Call of Duty is an entertainment juggernaut and cultural phenomenon. We are excited for the upcoming release of the new installment of this blockbuster franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts," said Gamestop exec. Bob Puzon. "We look forward to celebrating the worldwide November launch of this great game that is on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year."

The statement by the mega retailer comes as a slight surprise, given the annualized release of the series had yet to show fatigue, especially in the face of next week's Grand Theft Auto 5 launch.

Last month, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg was quite clear that pre-orders for Ghosts were "well below the record-setting pace set by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last year."

"Our quantitative consumer research indicates that hesitation amongst past COD pre-orderers is primarily due to not knowing which platform they will be playing on, which is natural at this time in the console transition," said Hirshberg recently, referring to the imminent launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

I could of sworn that GTA V would of won that, but then again COD is like the number played game next to Halo.

I mangeages to Drop a pre order on this game. I almost didn't because it's going to be the same as all the other Call of Dutys online. But I would like to have a new story line for single player. That was my selling point.

Dr-Ponyfile How can you say I am wrong as the stats are not even out yet in your opinion I maybe wrong but until the proof is there I am not wrong what I posted was a theory not a fact. And personally if GTAV does go to next gen which I doubght as it is developed for current gen it will blow COD Ghosts out of the water.


Do not need stats, it's basic maths.Release on more consoles and pc = way more sales.5 consoles to buy on vs gta V having two consoles.It does not take a genius to work out this will sell more.


All I have to say to this is time will tell.

You are already wrong just on the fact ghost will launch on all consoles within the end of the year = way more sales, gta V will only launch on xbox and ps3. People will be buying this crap on old and new consoles.
