Call of Duty: Ghosts tracking to be 'most pre-ordered' game of year

Gamestop's VP of merchandising has put the kibosh on Call of Duty not being its blockbuster self this year.

"Call of Duty is an entertainment juggernaut and cultural phenomenon. We are excited for the upcoming release of the new installment of this blockbuster franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts," said Gamestop exec. Bob Puzon. "We look forward to celebrating the worldwide November launch of this great game that is on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year."

The statement by the mega retailer comes as a slight surprise, given the annualized release of the series had yet to show fatigue, especially in the face of next week's Grand Theft Auto 5 launch.

Last month, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg was quite clear that pre-orders for Ghosts were "well below the record-setting pace set by Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 last year."

"Our quantitative consumer research indicates that hesitation amongst past COD pre-orderers is primarily due to not knowing which platform they will be playing on, which is natural at this time in the console transition," said Hirshberg recently, referring to the imminent launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

I'm sorry but I dont believe CoD ghosts has more Pre orders than GTA V.

GTA V = Most pre ordered game of the year, most anticipated game of the year and best game of the year.

the only reason COD will beat GTA is because it comes out on 6 different platforms, as GTA only comes out on 2

GTA5 will destory COD. GTA has more pre orders on Xbox 360 alone than COD has across all systems.

suck? lol CoD is the easiest game to get kills on. It's sole purpose is to make little 12 year olds think they're top shit when really they're not.
I play battlefield almost every day. I play CoD maybe once every 2 months online, and when i do, im always on top no word of a lie.

I don't believe them. How ONE month ago you go from being well behind BF4 and BO2 then all of a certain you become first?

I want to see some numbers. Not just someone saying "Oh this game is the most preordered game blah blah."

Until then... BF4 is the most preorder game, and no one is going to reserve GTA 5. People only reserve games so they can be rank #1 online.
