Titanfall dev not expecting to outsell Call of Duty

Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella doesn't expect his new game, Titanfall, to outsell Call of Duty.

"It's a new brand," he said as he compared it to the dominant Activision-published FPS series he also helped create before his departure from Infinity Ward.

"You build up momentum over the years when you put out a new brand. It's starting over, so it won't sell as well [as Call of Duty]," he said in a recent radio interview, reports Gamespot.

"But for us it's kind of a passion project. We love it. It's something new," Zampella continued. "It's taking the old paradigm of these shooter games being very grounded and two-dimensional and now adding this verticality to it and making it something that's a new experience; something that people haven't seen before."

Zampella later confirmed that the multiplayer-only shooter will retail at $60 in North America.

The sci-fi shooter was officially announced at E3 in July. It went on to be named Best of Show at the E3 Game Critics Awards.

Titanfall will launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC in spring 2014

I don't think it will either, despite the many that dislike cod, there is more who like the game.

No game will ever outsell Call of Duty, because little kids get their parents to buy it for them, and they always think it is gonna be different even though that it never changes, it's the same game with different guns, a different campaign, and that is it..

GTA will outsell COD I'm sure of it, I hope they do since they deserve it alot!


Idk man considering cod has as many little kids as they do people old enough if not more

See. this game has the chance to take over.. People are getting sick of call of duty, the same game every year with different maps and guns. This is why I like my Battlefield..

coDyDaTallGuy If it was multi-platform than it might have a chance. To bad it isn't. Plus I don't really see this game becoming that much of a hit imo.


Multi-platform woulld really help them out with sales.

I disagree with your opinion on the game, it looks really new and original which is something a lot of gamer's are craving.

This is true, Titan fall when it was announced at E3 which I watched most of except the Nintendo side was brilliant all the games like RYSE Son of Rome and all the others looked sweet it's going to be a good end of the year and next year for gamers all around the world.
