GTA V records biggest launch in UK history

Grand Theft Auto V has claimed the record as the biggest UK video game launch in history.

Rockstar's latest title, which launched globally on September 17, managed to sell around 1.57 million units in its first day on sale, pulling in around £65 million, according to Chart Track figures.

How these figures break down by platform went unspecified.

That smashes the previous record held by Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops, which managed 1.41 million units sold and around £58 million in its launch day, November 9, 2010.

Huge, love to know the stats on pirated copies as well or how many more copies would be sold if games were more reasonably priced.

Well assuming that as is the case in Australia were games are ripped off at $100 average for a copy.

GTA V is one of the MOST advanced games i've ever played. They added so much stuff that i've never seen in video games. This game deserves Game of the year, and so on.

GTA V also has the highest rating score on critic sites.

Still not recieved my copy :/ Preordered from Amazon on the 14th, get an email at 23:52 on the 17th, 23 hours after GTA V came out, to tell me that I won't recieve it until the 23rd, with no reason given. What a joke, i'm gutted...want to play it so badly.
