Battlefield won't give up until it's 'number one'

Ahead of the game's October 29 launch, EA Games executive VP Patrick Soderlund recently talked up Battlefield 4, discussing the series' competition with Activision's Call of Duty.

"Competition is good. It brings the best out of people. If there was only Battlefield or only Call of Duty, then the development teams might have been a little bit more content," Soderlund told MCV. He added that the developer doesn't mimic Activision's efforts on the Call of Duty series.

"Maybe they weren't thinking about us much when we made Battlefield 3, but I can tell you, they are thinking about us now. They need to," Soderlund said. "We made a dent in the FPS market and we took share from them. And I am not going to give up until I'm No.1 and I am going to make sure I'm No.1."

And with COD they are just happy to be selling copies of the games.


@Aggi They may have the determination, but in your opinion Battlefield is better a lot of others will argue that COD is better but that's flame wars for you. @Breading COD are trying to step up their game with COD ghosts and I am eager to see what they have done with the game but what can you do there are a lot of FPS developers battling for the top spots in the charts but we will all have to wait and see.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did take the #1 spot! I think they at least earned it bf3 was awesome and bf4 look great! If they took it I think COD would put out a better game the next year! COD hasn't put out an awesome game since mw2, they have put out good games but not great! I think honestly it would help COD if BF took the #1 spot for a year or two!

Yeah, that's what I said. People need to keep GTAV out of this. They're different games.


Yeah just said it one more time, because there will be more people commenting about GTA V.
Looking at it in games in general, or at least third person gamers, GTA V will most likely get game of the year, that or Last of us.
