Battlefield won't give up until it's 'number one'

Ahead of the game's October 29 launch, EA Games executive VP Patrick Soderlund recently talked up Battlefield 4, discussing the series' competition with Activision's Call of Duty.

"Competition is good. It brings the best out of people. If there was only Battlefield or only Call of Duty, then the development teams might have been a little bit more content," Soderlund told MCV. He added that the developer doesn't mimic Activision's efforts on the Call of Duty series.

"Maybe they weren't thinking about us much when we made Battlefield 3, but I can tell you, they are thinking about us now. They need to," Soderlund said. "We made a dent in the FPS market and we took share from them. And I am not going to give up until I'm No.1 and I am going to make sure I'm No.1."

Im siked for BF4 and stuff but still right now its all about GTA5

Battlefield 4 definitely has the potential to be the new No.1 FPS in the genre. And let's not compare GTA V with BF4 people. Anybody with a brain would know this isn't gonna even make half of what GTA V will make in it's course, nor is it even in the same genre.

I honestly think NO matter how many Battlefield's they make, Call of Duty will still be overpopulated than Battlefield will EVER be.

InsanePanda Cod will be number one for atleast the next 5 years.. Cod hasn't been getting any better but neither has Battlefield.. FPS genre in general has gotten old and stale anyway

Maybe 2 Billion within 2 years. I don't Battlefield will come to number 1.


It will as an FPS. It's not the same genre as gta.


This is true GTA Comes under Open World Genre and for people who say Battlefield will be number one I don't think it will In the FPS Genre I think COD may still take the top spot.

Even though it is more realistic I just don't think it will beat cod ghosts, as everyone buys cod where the game is easier to play unlike battlefield, and same with multi-player. BF4 won't beat GTA 5 though.
