Sony Computer Entertainment UK boss Fergal Gara has told CVG that all UK PS4 pre-orders placed to date should be in consumers' hands in time for Christmas.

"The metric that we use is the pre-order demand curve, and we've used our past five console launches as a reference point," he said. "Everyone who has put down a pre-order so far will definitely get one before Christmas, as long as nothing goes terribly wrong."

Gara said "there may well be tight supplies at Christmas, I can see a bit of a pinch point around that time", but that he expects the console to be "in free supply" at the start of 2014."

"We don't want to over-promise and under-deliver, we want to do the opposite," he added.

The PS4 release date is November 15 in the US and November 29 in Europe. The console will be available in 32 countries this holiday priced at £349 / €399 / $399.

Earlier today, Sony confirmed plans to release Killzone Shadow Fall PS4 hardware bundles in Europe. The first, priced at €439, will include the console, the game and a DualShock 4 controller. The second will include the aforementioned contents plus an extra DualShock 4 pad and the PlayStation Camera for €499, the same as Microsoft's European Xbox One price.
