BF4: DICE aims for equal performance on both next-gen consoles

An Eurogamer Expo booth attendant has said the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Battlefield 4 are intended to have the same frame rate and resolution.

The news comes via Japanese site GameSpark, as translated by DualShockers.

The site learned that the Xbox One version would run at 720p and 60 fps, and then spoke to staff at the game’s booth where it was told that DICE is aiming for the same performance for the PS4 version.

The site also noted that the details have not been officially and directly confirmed by DICE or EA; unfortunately, information from booths at trade shows can be a little bit unreliable, as demonstration staff aren’t always fully familiar with their product. The site’s language doesn’t suggest it spoke to a developer or permanent representative of the studio or publisher. We’ll see what EA can tell us.

Battlefield 4 is coming to PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 29.

Yeah! I can't wait for 64vs64 on Xbox one and ps4 omg!


That will definatley be insane and this is one of the features I am looking forward to I think that the performance on both consoles will be near enough the same as it normally is to be honest it will be interesting to see none the less though.


I'm a little worried for the transition into such big games for consoles but I think they will get it done

ShadowBoltDashie I will probably no life this game for a little, wouldn't doubt. I loved BF3 and the things in here have just impressed me, I'm liking the new weapons I have seen on gameplays and I just can't wait for this.

If consoles could run this game at 1080p@60+frames, that would be fantastic. Unfortunately, Battlefield has always been a very demanding game for PC/Console resources. I'm glad that they can make a game for the console at all given their limitations.

It would look so sick especially on the TV I have. I have a huge smart TV. It is awesome
