PS3 System Software Update 4.50 Launches Today

If your PS3 hasn’t been busy enough today with Grand Theft Auto Online and the Battlefield 4 beta, Sony will be releasing firmware update 4.50 for the system later today – something that will likely be mandatory.

Here’s what you can expect to change after downloading 4.50:

Auto download of system software updates has been expanded to support all PSN users.
Auto download support of purchases made on the Web Store will be made available to all PSN users.
New options for trophy privacy settings allow users to set which trophies are visible.
Data can now be transferred from PS3 to PS Vita using wi-fi and ethernet connection.

Katsumi Sony has the tendency to release small updates for their consoles most of the time. By the looks of it this update is just offering users some minor tweaks. Hopefully they bring out a big update some time before the PS4 is released

Couldn't agree more. Most of the time, I can't work out what the update was. Little updates, pointless.

He is saying the a few months/weeks ago there was an update that could brick your ps3 but it only did it to a hand full of people with a ps3 etc...

It looks more like he was trying to be sarcastic IMO

Yeah sarcasm with a drop of seriousness since it did happen

Dr-Ponyfile Minor update only thing I noticed was the Playstation Network had been renamed "PSN" that's all didn't take that long to download either.

I'm stuck in a hotel with horrendous internet and I was able to download it in like 10 minutes
