Rockstar Games has started rolling out its 'stimulus package' to Grand Theft Auto Online players.

The stimulus package was introduced as a means of compensation for the game's troubled launch period, which saw players struggling to connect and losing save data.

"Attention all Grand Theft Auto Online players," reads an announcement on the Rockstar website. "We have begun the Stimulus Package direct deposit into each of your in-game bank accounts. This GTA$500,000 deposit applies to all GTA Online players in the month of October 2013.

"We expect that it will take up to 2 full days for the Stimulus Package to be fully delivered to the entire player base from October 2013, so please be patient if you do not see it appearing in your in-game bank account just yet. We will update this post on Friday when we expect all the GTA$ Stimulus Package deposits to have been completed."

The first GTA Online DLC, the Beach Bum Pack, will be downloadable for free later this month.

It will introduce new beach themed vehicles and fresh weaponry that will be useable in both GTA Online and Grand Theft Auto 5.

The DLC pack will also add new customisation options for GTA Online characters and fresh multiplayer jobs to play across Gang Attacks, Survivals, Last Team Standings, Parachutes, Deathmatches and Races.
