Sony won't ban PS4 consoles that arrive early to customers

Microsoft made headlines this weekend when it would not allow the few people who got Xbox One consoles sent to them ahead of its November 22nd launch date to use the product online. Microsoft executive Albert Penello later said the temporary bans on these consoles was due to the fact that the company is still trying to stomp out the final bugs in the Xbox One before the launch.

But what if, for some reason, someone gets a PS4 ahead of the U.S. launch date of November 15th, or the European launch scheduled for November 29th? Sony's President of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, indicated in a Twitter post this weekend that the company won't ban any PS4 consoles that arrive to customers ahead of their launch dates.

Sony has already sent a PS4 to YouTube celebrity "Francis" to try out and the video seemed to indicate he was able to play games on the console. Sony has already announced that there will be a "day one" 300 MB software update for the console that will enable many of its features, including its ability to play Blu-ray movie discs.

Sphinq If you think I am a MS geek you are correct, and I also happen to be qualified in Business and Marketing and Sony are taking cheap shots to better their public image because they are up against a very formidable corporation. After the Xbox One is release I can bet my house that Xbox will out sell PS. Not because I like MS, but because MS are a stronger and more loved corporation that has always done much better than PS.


If you think Xbox has always done much better than PS then you obviously do not know a lot. As Xbox 360 is the only one to ever outsell a PS and bare in mind Xbox 360 only sold couple hundred thousand more consoles than PS3 despite the PS3 coming out a year later. Also I am qualified in Business and Marketing and nothing you said then has anything to do with business more to do with your assumption and biased opinion due to being an Xbox Fanboy, whether you deny it or not it is plain to see.

failing? lol you ms geeks get super pissed when one company is doing something right and MS isn't admit it this is a good one for sony. And cheap shots? its a rivalry of course there are going to be punches thrown some hurt a little more than others. Sony had the friends list At 2K before the xbox conference. they announced it but pushed it ahead thats why TTG git the article in the news section. If MS was Doing stuff right i would go with them but they are not so don't defend someone who is doing something wrong makes you just as bad as them.


1. you're an idiot. sony announced 1k friends. then xbox released 2k. sony got butt-hurt and expanded.Sony is taking the cheap shots. The right way to business is to proceed with protocol, E.G. Microsoft banning those players that had access. Why? cuz it was illegal. Sony isn't doing it for the exact opposite reason. for the publicity. im not getting any next gen console until next year. but for all you idiots that doesn't know facts should be slapped lol

The people who really care are xbox fans. they get mad when sony does something right and they forget how long sony has been doing this.

As you can see as soon as sony announces they are doing it right Xboxers get super angry.

Lol sony keeps 1-uping MS and MS can't defend themselves. the only defense they had was that 1080p Forza 5 trailer but lets be real who is going to buy that garbage?


umm who wouldnt buy it forza is one of the best racing games out there

Surely, you jest. Sphinq is absolutely correct. Sony is obviously taking cheap shots at Microsoft to better their public image. Microsoft won't allow early consoles to function online. Sony then says, "Well, look at us. We won't ban people who get a console early. In fact, we're sending people consoles early. [Please buy our stuff]" That doesn't make them a better company. In fact, that just shows how desperate they are to try to compete with Microsoft. It would be like having a Burger King next to a McDonald's having a sale where they practically give away hamburgers to try to attract more customers and potentially keep some consumers away from their competitors.
