PS4 pre-orders ahead of Xbox One, Ubisoft boss suggests
When asked during a financials call on Tuesday whether Ubisoft was worried about Xbox One's commercial performance, Guillemot replied, "Even if the PS4 is in front of Xbox One pre-orders... so we are not worried at all. We think [Xbox One] will be a best-seller as well."
Sony announced in August that more than one million PS4 pre-orders had been placed worldwide. Two months later, analyst Michael Pachter suggested that that figure had risen to around 1.5 million units.
While retailers have reported seeing strong pre-orders for Microsoft's new console, official figures have not been announced.
Guillemot said back in July that Christmas pre-order numbers for PS4 and Xbox One were double that of the launch of PS3 and Xbox 360, citing reports from retailers.
Ubisoft reported on Tuesday a $131 million loss for the first six months of the financial year (April to September), representing a 33 per cent year-on-year decline.
Higher costs, including a $56 million rise in research and development spend, has left the publisher in the red despite a slight rise in year-on-year sales generating $400 million.
PS4 is set for a launch date of November 15 in US and November 29 in Europe and Latin America.
The Xbox One release date falls a week after PS4's US debut, arriving November 22, 2013 in 13 markets. The Xbox One price has been set at £430 / €500 / $500.

CRM I think everyone knows this:L
Nobody knows this.
TTG posts articles of opinions as if they were facts.
Xbone sold more than PS4.

Touchable Not really sure why TTG posts everyones opinions...
Because it gets people stirred up and draws more people to the article.
I mean just look at the comment section and you can see the conflict.

I don't think its too hard to understand why this is tho.
These 2 machines are expensive. Expensive to a point where the vast majority of people who are planning on picking one up in the next few months are only going to be able to afford one.
Most people don't "hate" the other console, they want conformation that they are making the right choice with their money, and unfortunately, the easiest way to do that is to belittle the other, and talk big about the one your going to get. A lot of gamer's are, contrary to popular belief, largely social in nature. The more people we can convince to purchase the console that we are planning on buying, the more friends we have to play with.
Its conformation bias too. I'm guilty of it. I'm planning on getting a PS4, but I've never owned a PS3 and I love(d) the Xbox brand. How ever, I loooove reading posts and stories on websites that make the PS4 look better than the Xbone. Because it confirms to me that I'm spending 350+ the right way. I don't hate the other brand.

DreamsTheUnholy1994mtnDreams not surprised xbox failed at advertising this year going back on there word so many times
Amen on that, they sure did. PS4 is getting released early too, once people see the beauty of it. There will be no competition.
It's people like you that make me laugh... I mean saying they failed at advertising and saying they have less preorders, that doesn't mean Gaystation is gonna sell more... It's funny how you said "there will be no competition". You can't even say that, unless you've played both next gen systems. Sony is focusing on the hardcore gamer who just sits in they're bedroom. Microsoft are making they're system like an entertainment system, not just games...
ive always liked xbox more and never owned a playstation and i can honestly say xbox failed at marketing this year and they should have focused on the hardcore gamer because in the end thats who is gonna make ms and sony the most money not people that play games 2-3 times a week
Microsoft had some great ideas but were marketed poorly thanks to the incompetence of Don Mattrick. They have done a pretty good job attempting to deliver some games at launch.
I'm purchasing both consoles at launch and I'm personally excited, but right now I'm more excited about the Xbox. Not only it has a potentially better line up (waiting on reviews) than the PlayStation 4 (so far reviews for 1st party titles are a complete disaster) and are including some really nice features. I'm all in for what the system can offer.
I got the opportunity to play Knack and FIFA 14 on the PlayStation 4 and it would be unfair for me to say oh "it sucks" because I have not experienced their better games yet and Knack was very disappointing. I got to try the Xbox One as well with Killer Instinct and Forza. I'm not a racing fan but the game feels very good and it looks gorgeous. Killer Instinct was decent as well, looks much better in person than the videos shown around on YouTube.
