GTA 5 online updates: Beach Bum DLC and Casino Heist rumours

A downloadable casino heist mission is rumoured to be in the pipeline for Grand Theft Auto 5 after Rockstar hinted at “some exciting new Story Mode updates” whilst announcing its latest DLC package, ‘Beach Bum’.


The free Beach Bum update is set for 19 November and will include a number of new features. Rockstar has said that there will be a range of new beach-themed vehicles, weapons and customisations.

At the end of the blog post that announced the update was a claim that “very soon” there will be “some exciting new updates” available for GTA 5’s story mode, fueling the internet's speculation as to what the new content might be.

For a time, the most likely answer was a new set of missions set in North Yankton (the remote, snowy area in which the missions ‘Prologue’ and ‘Bury the Hatchet’ are set). However, this rumour has since lost all credibility, with the person behind it admitting they made it up.

The other most prominent rumour is that of a casino heist. This rumour, which has been the subject of significant discussion on a number of forums, originates from the already in-game casino which displays the sign “opening soon”, which many gamers have seen as a hint at things to come.

Rockstar has remained typically tight-lipped however, and are yet to confirm whether or not a casino heist mission is in the offing.

Oasis The beach bum pack is a joke the vehicles are all boring, even the dune buggy is terrible, they still won't let you customized a van fully, hundreds of clothing items?? Really?? Who cares that much. I bought the game thinking all the heists, content creator, online blimp and so on were included....but no...rockstar are too busy counting the money to care about the players.

I would of prefered them to not release the game at all maybe waiting a year or so. If the heists are as boring as the rest of the online then it's getting sold.

Actually they are not giving "free DLC" away they are just adding content to make the GTA the game that was promised in the first place. Now i already paid enough for the game and didnt get what was promised and now im very bored of the game. So as Oasis said if the heists arnt any use then there really is no substance to GTA online at all. major fail. still feels like im playing a beta version


what so your telling me the beach bum pack was men't to be in the game from day one of release ? I think not.

Are you going to say that about any other company E.g Saints Row, that there DLC's should be in the game from release :)


The thing is about it though, GTA Online was said to have so many things at the start. What did we get? Servers made of used condoms and rotten potatoes, no heists, glitches, exploits and crew events. If anything, Rockstar owes us this just for their lack of compensation. They earned a MILLION dollars in a few days. Once that happened they stopped doing really anything for the game that would make it better but just not give a shit and put out random patches to bull shit their lack of care for the game.

When the released the GTA Online reveal they included heists in it. Everyone had the right to expect that heists would be available when it was released.

It's a free add on because it's adding on to a unfinished product titled "GTA Online."

whataname - alot of people will still play this game even after the new consoles are out. GTA always has a large following no matter what.
There is still alot of people not jumping to PS4 or xbox one right away.

I completely agree, they showed so much in the GTAO trailers which 2 months on still arent in, its kind of ridiculous
Also, it should be free DLC seen as it is a part of the game they are just crap and cant sort it out
