UK Xbox One sales just shy of Wii U's lifetime total, report claims

Xbox One sales were fast approaching Wii U's lifetime total after just two days of availability in the UK, a new report claims.

Retail monitor Chart-Track said on Monday morning that Xbox One sales were twice as big as those recorded for Xbox 360's launch week.

And an unnamed source has now told trade publication MCV that 150,000 Xbox One units were sold in the UK in the console's first 48 hours of availability, which is "just a few thousand units short of beating the Wii U's total UK sales accrued since its release a year ago this week"

Wii U sales totalled about 40,000 units during the system's first 48 hours of availability in UK.

At the end of Nintendo's second fiscal quarter ended September 30, global Wii U hardware sales stood at 3.91 million units.

Worldwide Xbox One sales topped one million units in less than 24 hours, Microsoft claimed on Saturday.

PS4 launched in North America on November 15 ahead of the European and Latin American PS4 release date of November 29. PS4 sales hit one million units in the console's first 24 hours of availability, according to Sony.

The Wii is so bad it's a little sad that the Xbox One is shy of the Wii U's lifetime total to be honest.

ext Well the Wii was a bit popular when it first came out, but the popularity of the console has dropped an excruciatingly over the years. The Wii is barely a console anymore, and they are not making their money back as fast as they wanted to.

Even the WiiU hardly took off. Nintendo are getting left behind in terms of consoles nowadays

The Nintendo 64 was the last good console by Nintendo, the first Wii was terrible, and the Wii U is even worst I read reviews on it, and they are just terrible.

I dont think nintendo has ever had the financial income that sony or MS get due to their branching. I mean sony make a lot of things and MS make a lot of things. Nintendo ONLY make consoles

I have to say I had a Nintendo 64, it wasn't bad, but once I went to PS1, and PS2 it was so much better, then I got a Xbox 360 and that was it, I knew I was staying with Xbox forever, I also had a original Xbox and that truly the best console I had.

I think nintendo should drop the Wii and solely focus on handheld gaming!

They will still get beat, by Playstation, everyone loves the Playstation vista, and that new one they have out, I forgot it.

Maybe MS should have put some money into a handheld device also?

I would buy it, with how great the Xbox One, and Xbox 360 is I could just imagine a handheld version of a Xbox.

Yeah I would definitely buy it also!
