Nvidia: “the PC platform is far superior to any console”

Nvidia’s consumer sales manager Matt Wright has stressed that PC is the gaming platform of choice, and that its functionality makes it “far superior” to consoles. He recognises that some staunch console players may need some extra convincing however.

It follows the UK and European PS4 launch.

Speaking with MCV, Wright said, “We are proposing small form-factor PCs to be a viable alternative to the next-gen consoles. Enthusiast players want the ultimate games system and that is the PC. The PC platform is far superior to any console when it comes to gaming, plus you get all the extra functionality that a computer brings.”

He added that from the outside looking in, PC gaming may appear more complex and technical to the layman, but stressed, “We want to make PC gaming as simple as possible and we think that it already becoming much more relevant and appealing to casual gamers,”

Steam also helps. “Steam now has more users than Xbox Live,” Wright concluded. “There is a whole new generation who grew up playing on PC with titles like Minecraft or World of Tanks. There’s a huge community who love playing their games on PC.”

So much this. I acknowledge that PC is the superior platform but there is no need for PC gamers to be so.. cocky about it.

You can pay the same amount that you do for a console on a PC and still get better performance.


yeah maybe but not with 3 monitors and all that stuff. and i know for a fact that a 400 dollar pc cant do as much as the ps4 ( gaming Wise )


Yes.. yes it can.. what you people don't realize is, if your graphics card is a stand-alone card, you can overclock it if you have the fans to support the extra heat so it doesn't melt, and overclocked computer at $400 can put out the same quality and FPS a $800 normal clocked computer could

For those who say if they did pc's premade, just go to overclockers and check their PC Bundles, they are premade + you can change what you want if you know anything about speccs, it's not hard, PCs will always put out more power than a Console because PCs have the ability to be huge, consoles are compact, don't blame them, they need it to be compact, PCs don't need to be compact.

It may be superior that much is true. But ask yourself this, in what way or ways is it superior. I'm sure the same can be said about consoles.

If Nvidia would market a Premade $600 PC console that can run games smooth on High settings.. call it the NvidiaBox, make an official website for it, make commercials for it. And sell it in the same isle as a PS4 or Xbox One; I'd be a PC gamer. I would be a PC gamer if I didn't have to take the time to research what parts I need, what graphics card, GPU, blah blah blah. Bottom line is, if they market a decent PC Monitor that is around the same price as Next Gen, there will be more PC players.

PC's outself Xbone and PS4 put together about 50 times over.


Yeah, but not PC's bought for gaming. Maybe if you're talking PC's in general.. That's because my parents cannot pay taxes on a PlayStation.. I can garuntee that for every $700 PC sold, there are 3, $200 Xbox's sold.
