Man who purchased Xbox One photo for $730 gets free console

19-year-old Peter Clatworthy made headlines last week after he purchased a badly printed picture of an Xbox One for more than the actual console is worth.

While Clatworthy has already successfully pursued a refund thanks to PayPal's buyer protection guidelines, the chances of getting a new Xbox One unit before Christmas weren't looking positive for the Nottingham teenager.

Well, for anyone losing sleep over what wil go down in history as The Clatworthy Conundrum, here's some peace of mind: British retailer CeX has given our bumbling hero a free console.

When reached by the Nottingham Post for comment, Clatworthy said he was stunned by the response his predicament has triggered.

"I'm just overwhelmed by the reaction to the story," Clatworthy said. "All I wanted was a refund. I cannot believe this."

What a beautiful ending to a tragic story.

That's really nice of the company to do something like that especially this time of the year when people don't have a lot of extra money! We are doing something like that for a girl that works at my work, she just found out she has cancer at the age of 17 all the servers are donating all the tips they make for the day to the girl!

well congrats to him but seems a bit odd the last ttg article said that he was buying it for his young son and i cant see a child most likely not older then 3 playing this thing

Would you not take a free Xbox One if it was offered to you? I know I would.


But the item clearly said that it was a "photo". He shouldnt of even got his money back let alone a new xbox for his kid that wont even be able to comprehend what hes doing.

Relentless757 He still spent more than 500$ for the console. Should've threw in a few games and a turtlebeach headset. Glad to see he actually got an Xbox One though, he is really lucky.


The article stated that because of Paypal's buyer protection policies, he recovers a full refund. So he got all his money back and a free xbox one.
