GTA V story DLC inbound in 2014, says Rockstar

Grand Theft Auto 5 players will be treated to "substantial" single-player story expansions in 2014.

Rockstar teased major plans for new content in a recent DLC-focused announcement. "For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas," it said.

This came along with an update to confirm that co-operative Heists for GTA Online were in development for release next year.

"Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year," said Rockstar.

The firm will this week launch the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta for GTA Online, letting players create their own missions in the online portion of the game.

Players will be able to share their creations with others, and the best creations will be highlighted in a selection of 'Rockstar Verified Jobs'.

The beta is "expected" to go live tomorrow, December 10.

A video showing off seemingly leaked content from Grand Theft Auto Online content creator emerged online last week.

December will also see the release of a new competitive team mode, Capture. As Rockstar explains, "A proper GTA twist on classic capture the flag, Capture mode brings territory infiltration and a new form of team-versus-team treachery into GTA Online. Up to four squads battle to steal contraband, trucks, buses or whatever from opponents' bases using high-speed vehicles, explosive weaponry and cunning teamwork.

"Capture is broken down into four variations - 'Raid', 'Contend', 'Hold' and 'GTA'". More details for each are promised soon.

I wonder how many people are actually going to be playing 360's in 2014.

Too bad dlc want be released sooner. I'll probably not be playing the 360 anymore at all by the time they are.

Sprites Yeah **** the MP!, let's make SP DLC for no good ******* reason.

Anyone else really getting sick of Rockstar?, I defended them for a long time now but this is blasphemy.. They had two EXTRA weeks to prepare for GTA:Online and it failed on launch, in the same boat they haven't released anything cool. I know they released the Beach Bum Pack but that was a sorry excuse for DLC and it was honestly dreadful. I can't seem to back them anymore, give us the heists give us ALL of the things we're supposed to have.

Yes because developing major dlcs without bugs in a large game like gta v on old outdated hardware is soooo easy. Shut up and be thankful they didn't push gta v back until 2016.

jreppt What garbage no heists until 2014 Rockstar should be ashamed. They don't fix anything on Gta 5 except for money glitches.

Heists are cool to have but are going to be boring

Finally they've announced that they're working on the heists for 2014.

I want more to the campaign to do so this is cool

Activez- Anyone know if they're charging for DLC? They haven't mentioned a price so I'm assuming it's going to be free which is good.

I heard that the first 3 DLC will be free.

Why advertise the content creator when it's not even out of beta r*? Oh well seeing as heists are a long way off (even tho once again it was in the trailers) I guess a cc beta will do, I wonder how long before it breaks.
