Untethered evasi0n7 iOS 7 Jailbreak released

4.4
Apple released iOS 7 in September and despite a lock screen exploit that was quickly closed with a patch, there hasn't been any recent jailbreaks released for the mobile OS. That changed early on Sunday morning when the well know Evad3rs hacker team released their latest version of evasi0n. This new build, called evasi0n7, is supposed to work on all versions of iOS 7 released to date.

The program itself runs on both Windows and Mac and allows users of iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch products to gain deeper access to the OS, mostly to run apps that are not distributed by Apple via official channels. That includes Cydia and apparently the creator of that program, Jay Freeman, was surprised at the sudden release of the jailbreak program, at least according to his Twitter messages:

I thereby have no clue what will or will not work, or even what evasi0n7 includes; I hope that people bear with me as I figure this all out.

As with any jailbreak program, running this software is not recommended for the casual owner of Apple's mobile products. It could affect a device's battery life, security set ups and much more so people who install evasi0n7 do so at their own risk.

Not buggy for me, just barely supports iOS7 though.

It works perfectly, only there's literally no Tweaks that support Ios7 yet.

Haven't jailbroken my iPhone yet, and doubt I ever will.

I wish I had an iPhone. :( Free stuff.

GossipPosted:

I jailbroke my phone before and it wasn't that great anyways.

A few important tips

1) Ensure that you have performed a complete backup of the iOS device using iTunes before the jailbreak process.

2) Disable passcode lock on the iOS device.

3) Users are advised not to perform any iTunes related task during the jailbreak process.

4) For the untethered jailbreak, use a device that is updated to iOS 7 via clean iTunes restore, but not using over-the-air update.

5) Windows users are advised to run evasi0n as administrator.

6) The jailbreak tweaks might have issues on devices powered by the 64-bit A7 chip, which include iPhone 5s, iPad Air and iPad mini.

I'm still on ios 6.1 and will stay until all the bugs are fixed.

Well I jailbreaked before and it wasn't that amazing, well I do have to give it to evasi0n7 since its complicated to find a exploit.

Genetics I own an android but jailbreaking is cool! I would prefer rooting anyday though :P

I also believe Jailbreaking your phone is cool, but if this gets patched, it will be pointless doing it.

I also prefer rooting. The day I got my Samsung Galaxy I rooted it. It's neat man.
