Sony dropping online play for Gran Turismo 5, Resistance trilogy

Gran Turismo 5 and the Resistance franchise will be pulling the online plug in early 2014. Sony has announced that Gran Turismo 5 will conclude its online features on May 20, 2014, with the Resistance franchise on PlayStation 3 following on March 28.

Also, as of January 28, 2014, the online connectivity of MAG, SOCOM: Special Forces and SOCOM: Confrontation will also cease to be. Since MAG and SOCOM: Confrontation are online only, we hope you enjoy your new coasters.

These games may have not have had a lot of players , so they see it as a lose-lose keeping the servers up, i know last time i played socom it took an hour to find enough players.

Not surprised at the other games but GT5?
So you release GT6, realise that it's not selling as well as you hoped, then decide to shut GT5???

Don't they realise that for the people that have never played a Gran Turismo, before buying a new one, most people try the old one first!

Man I loved the online to resistance. I wish I could have gotten a PS3 so I could enjoy it again.

I dont why people play the online anyway, resistance is mediocre online and GT5 is boring, id rather forza tbh
