Xbox One is “uncapped”, according to Phil Harrison

4.5
The Xbox One is up and running and Microsoft VP Phil Harrison is excited about what the future holds for Redmond’s newest console.

“When you’ve been around for a long time, you know what platforms are like,” Harrison told OXM. “The games you celebrate and are proud of in the first year, when you look back at them from the perspective of ten years from now; you’d be amazed at the difference. It’s a combination of the tools getting better, developers beginning to understand the unique architecture to work with.”

Harrison credits the Xbox One’s flexibility of the cloud and that its potential will be unlocked over time.

“Crucially this time around, there’s the power of the cloud and what that means for game design,” he said. “That can grow and scale indefinitely – of course there is a practical limit but in effect you’re uncapped. And I think, from a player’s perspective, that’s the most exciting part; that it’s not just about the chips in the box under the television or wherever you position your console of choice, it’s about what the platform will provide you with over time. We’ve not had that in a console generation before.”

In addition to Game DVR, SmartGlass and Kinect integration, Harrison said that there were five other features in Microsoft’s pipeline ready to come out.

It's going to be a big battle between Sony & Microsoft in 2014, on what accessories they bring out for the consoles and how good they are.

I don't have an Xbox One yet, but I actually think the things they will do with it in the future will be pretty awesome!

Caszech Haven't had any troubles with my Xbox One so far. :)

That's pretty luck on your end, hopefully you wont run into too many major ones in the future either.

Event I plan on buying myself another ps4 when the console price drops.

Why would you buy another PS4? For what.

OptimisticMods Xbox will go father than ps4

The PS4 is sold out in multiple stores but the Xbox One is almost always in stock...What does that tell you?

You sir don't understand economics. Microsoft has had a lot better system of shipping, building, and overall production and sourcing of their console. Sony on the other hand, didn't do so hot in this category and fell short of their demand.

Vanoss Here is a list of what Microsoft has planned in the past, is working on now, or is thinking about for the future.

-IllumiRoom (Past)
-Previous generation headset adapters (Present)
-Xbox One TV Series including Halo and Quantum Break (Present)
-Upload/Stream to Youtube and Twitch (Present)
-External storage usage (Present)
-Backwards compatibility (Future)
-Remote play (Uncertain)

And I doubt they plan on adding Microsoft Office to this list as well.

Illumiroom is gone with no hope of returning. It was too expensive, too tedious to setup, and far far far to hard to mass-produce. They cut the plan all together a while back now. Its an intriguing experiment, but that's all it turned out to be, an experiment. last i heard they predicted it costing several thousand dollars to have it setup in the normal home.

Mwah Most game servers are messing up and now this.. Ima wait.

"And now this"

What? Lol. There's nothing wrong with the Xbox One. Phil just basically said we're nothing near full max graphic games.

Xbox one has been smooth since the beginning, whereas PS4 has had multiple server crashes.

I agree with Wolf on this one. PS4 has got problems now where as Xbox One, I have not YET encountered an issue. (Touch wood)

Mafia6k XBOX IS THE BEST ALWAYS WILL BE

When I think about why you say that, one thing pops to mind. The service. I agree. Xbox is better IMO.
