Report: Wii U Outsold Xbox One Last Week

The alleged sales numbers for the week of December 21 have been revealed by VGChartz, and, according to the data, the Wii U outsold Microsoft’s Xbox One console globally last week.

As you can see in the chart below, the Wii U sold 319,860 units world-wide last week while the Xbox One sold only 307,366. Of course, neither systems come close to the numbers of the 3DS which sold 1,078,568 units last week to remain the top selling console in the World.

The news of the Wii U outselling the Xbox One is surprising due to the fact that Microsoft’s console is the newer of the two which has more “hype” at this time of the year. The fact that the Wii U sales are on the upswing can only be good news for a console, and a company, with high hopes for 2014.

I'm actually surprise here. Seems like Wii U's aren't even commercialized like that of a xbox one.

Yeah I would definitely agree with you on that. I'm getting bored of just playing NBA 2k14 and BF4.


That is why I have been playing my 360 a lot recently.


Not many people has the Xbox one yet but more people will get it and outsell the Wii.

It's not because it's bad, it's because it's from Dec 21 2013. The stats are different now and they will just keep getting higher and higher throught the years.

Xbox one still has not been released in japan .
Wii-u has.
Xbox one beats wii -u sales in Europe and USA.


Ugh.. it really wouldn't of made much of a difference. Microsoft is really not popular in Japan. To the point where the Xbox 360 only sold 1.6 million units there since its release

yes but it would of only had to sell 12,000 of them to catch that is not that many.

The Wii U is cheaper, has free online, has a lot of 3rd party developers, yet no one buys it! It's only because the community isn't as big, but that can change.


I really doubt that will happen but you never know.
