Microsoft allays delays fears following Halo omission from 2014 games list

An Xbox rep has reaffirmed that Halo 5 for Xbox One will be released in 2014.

Microsoft's senior PR manager for Halo, Rob Semsey, moved to appease the concerns of gamers who noted that, in an announcement on Monday regarding Xbox One sales, Microsoft exec Yusif Mehdi left Halo out of his list of anticipated Xbox One games coming in 2014.

Mehdi boasted of a "promising" lineup of Xbox One titles in 2014, touting Titanfall, Watch Dogs and several other games, but no mention of Halo 5 - which was announced at E3 last year for a 2014 release.

But this is not an indication of a delay, assured Semsey via Twitter. "Xbox Wire today mentioned a few 2014 titles; Halo on Xbox One not listed due to official name of the next title not announced yet," he reasoned (although the title is expected to be 'Halo 5').

"Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014," he added.

Mehdi announced that Microsoft had sold more than three million Xbox One units by the end of 2013 globally. "It's been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox", he said.

Axe I never really enjoyed the Halo series. Maybe this one will change my mind, but I doubt it.


I have never really been a fan of the Halo series either, but I've always enjoyed the campaigns and forge...not so much the multiplayer.

This is one of the games I will most likely be buying later this year. I have never been a die hard halo fan but I always enjoy playing the games the series puts out.

If you haven't liked any games in the past i am doubtful that this one will appeal to you very much., there is always a chance though

Hopefully this game will be better then Halo 4

Really hoping this is a step up from the horridness of Halo 4. I couldn't seem to get into the game anymore after a month of it. Spartan ops were okay but boring, Campaign was short and storyline was less than climatic. Multiplayer felt too much like CoD mixed with Halo 3 maps. Some people loved 4 but I believe it to be a step down from any Halo title.

That said, hopefully 5 will be better than 4, personally, I don't think it can be achieved though with how quick Microsoft and 343i are turning this game around (1 for every other year now).
