Microsoft allays delays fears following Halo omission from 2014 games list

An Xbox rep has reaffirmed that Halo 5 for Xbox One will be released in 2014.

Microsoft's senior PR manager for Halo, Rob Semsey, moved to appease the concerns of gamers who noted that, in an announcement on Monday regarding Xbox One sales, Microsoft exec Yusif Mehdi left Halo out of his list of anticipated Xbox One games coming in 2014.

Mehdi boasted of a "promising" lineup of Xbox One titles in 2014, touting Titanfall, Watch Dogs and several other games, but no mention of Halo 5 - which was announced at E3 last year for a 2014 release.

But this is not an indication of a delay, assured Semsey via Twitter. "Xbox Wire today mentioned a few 2014 titles; Halo on Xbox One not listed due to official name of the next title not announced yet," he reasoned (although the title is expected to be 'Halo 5').

"Rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014," he added.

Mehdi announced that Microsoft had sold more than three million Xbox One units by the end of 2013 globally. "It's been incredible to see Xbox One selling at a record-setting pace for Xbox", he said.

eGirls I really hope the X1 Brings back competitive Halo, After the pro Halo scene died off most of the players went to COD i.e BigTymer, MrX, Schandi, Pistola, Crimsix It'll be interesting to see how it fairs against the new blockbusters coming in 2014.


That's what I'm hoping for too!


I could definitely see them doing something along these lines. A new console could easily lead to a whole new Halo competitive scene seeming that interest in Call of Duty is starting to die out

Buxtyyy I've never really played the Halo series, but they do look like astounding games.


They are a must play if you own an Xbox 360 or an Xbox One. One of the big reasons to own an Xbox these days is for Halo

Cant wait, This'll be the 2nd installment of the 343's planned trilogy, apparently it's supposed to be quite depressing and a dark time for Master Chief.....

I personally think it should be called "Halo 5" seeing as in the Future when you go talk about it, people will be thinking about Halo 1 if it were just Halo. It's kinda like the Xbox, xbox 360, and the Xbox One.

Nah Halo 5 is good enough in my mind just cross your fingers they don't pull a Call Of Duty and have 3 series With 3 Different story lines.
