PS4 outselling Xbox One 1.5:1 in UK

Sony claims that its PlayStation 4 is outselling Microsoft’s Xbox One by a ratio of 1.5:1 in the UK indicating that for every 2 Xbox One units, Sony is selling 3 PlayStation 4 units in the UK.

Speaking at an event in the UK PlayStation UK boss Fergal Gara further added that PlayStation 3 sales figures are exactly the opposite. Xbox 360 was outselling the PlayStation 3 by 1.51:1 according to latest sales figures.

The latest PS4 to Xbox One sales ratio of 1.5:1 is impressive as Xbox 360 has a greater fan following in the UK as compared to Europe where PlayStation consoles fare better.

According to analysis reports and inventory data, Xbox Ones are easier to get in the UK as compared to PlayStation 4 and that probably explains the stats revealed by Gara.

As of December 2013, Sony managed to sell 4.2 million units of PlayStation 4, while Microsoft sold 3 million Xbox One with 3.9 million ‘shipped’. This puts the sales ratio of PS4 to Xbox One at 2:1.5.

i completely agree. and thats in the UK. over 4x the amount of consoles will be sold in the US.

I've always thought the xbox 2 as more cheaper in the UK. Sony is really hitting it off with their sales, I give them props for that.

Strobe I have an Xbox One, and the PS4 does seem slightly better now, but I think on the late half of these consoles life span Xbox One will be slightly better. These numbers don't surprise, as the PS4 is better now. However, I think the Cloud will allow devs to load more objects/memory on a game at a larger rate than whatever Sony uses. This will allow games like Fallout to be larger, more detailed, interactive, etc.

You do realize the cloud has been proven to be a marketing scam? With current technology (and the near future) cloud computing can only be used for small things like lighting, which will make a minuscule difference.


How is it a scam? It's already being used right now and on future games. Technology only gets better, everyone knows that.

Yeah for driveitars lol (phones can do this), cloud computing in the way microsoft describes is IMPOSSIBLE right now, and will be for the life of the console. It's simply a marketing scheme to make the power gap seem less important.

Research cloud computing and latency/internet speeds and you will see why it's not possible (except lighting and maybe ai)
