PS4 Users Suffering with Display Issues

A new error for the PlayStation 4 has cropped up. Users are apparently suffering from an issue which results in no audio, the controller not working and an odd grid-like display appearing on-screen.

Switching to safe mode does nothing apparently and occurs as soon as the console is turned on. Other users, especially on GAF, have been facing a similar issue ranging from games like Battlefield 4 (and no, it’s nothing like the earlier CE-34878-0 error which affected the multiplayer), Killzone: Shadow Fall and Assassin’s Creed 4. It’s not as strong as the above picture, but still very noticeable. You can check them below.

The HDMI cable isn’t the problem this time around – which resulted in some display problems in the beginning for the PlayStation 4. It looks to be more of a GPU issue this time around or simply a firmware glitch. Who’s to say? As it stands, the best advice that has been offered as of now is to simply “Call Sony”.

Sony has had quite a lot of problems, but that is expected with a new console.

Xbox hasnt had any Major problems effecting gameplay has it? i have never seen something like this though. screen crop really why you troll?

xbox one is a mess right now.

-console slows down when loading multiple apps.
-console is slow when two profiles are signed in.
-kinect is very glitchy.
-the xbox will boot you from a game and you'll be at the home screen again. or as i simply like to say "crashing".


these are the problems i've had though. i'm sure there are more though.


I'm not a fanboy, I have the X1 & PS4. You are far from right IMO.
I'm not saying the console has no issues but I've experienced none of what you've pointed out on my X1.

That looks like it would be extremely annoying to have. Hopefully Sony can release a update ASAP that will address the issue or else they will have a lot of unhappy gamers.

gyaniman I guess Sony's going to get the 360's equivalent of RROD Soon. This is what happens when you choke the console with a small **** case. Well, if sony does want to live up to claiming the console is 50% better hardware wise, it would be a good idea to underclock the PS4 a tad bit so that it doesn't overheat, because right now their all going to ****.


They won't get something similar to the RROD It cost Microsoft too much money, Sony and Microsoft learned from Microsofts mistake. Your argument is invalid. sure there have been problems but they will phase out after 1 to 2 years.


Ill hold you to that. Watch coming week, 40% PS4's DEAD.

How funny would it be if that was true lol would make you seem silly ;) anyway i kinda agree surely the ps4 will have more heat issues than xbox one

I got a PS4 about a month ago, with Battlefield and NBA, two of the most 'problematic' games. I've not actually had one single problem with either game or my console, I love it if I'm honest but there's bound to be problems across the board, devs these days never make sure anything's perfect anymore, they want the console out quicker for more money
