Call of Duty now on three year development cycle

Activision has released that it will be moving the CoD series to a three year development cycle instead of two.

While this still means a new CoD entry each year it *should* allow much more time for the respective devs to fully develop their CoD. One would imagine their hope in this strategy change is to foster more innovation while allowing further care of previously released games in the form of better crafted DLC.

VPN If they can't fix their own game correctly and make it excellent I will be done with CoD.


yeah. but I don't see cod as cod, I see it as cod by infinity ward, and cod by treyarch. every game by treyarch was a huge success but the past two games from infinity ward was vegetable. that means I'm done with infinity ward and I'm only for Treyarch. :P


I honestly am done with CoD now I can't even stand playing the game.

Usually Treyarch does have a good game.


Sledgehammer brought us the gamemode "Infected" though and that has become very popular so hopefully they can make a good one this year :)

It's about time they add some more years on the dev cycle, maybe now they could take their time and make the game better.

As for the three year cycle, it will hopefully make for an amazing Call of Duty game seeing as they will have more time to work on them before releasing them.


although what your said is true, the game that's coming out this year by sledge hammer was build only for a year, so the 3 year cycle will start from the next next game. which means? the next call of duty will SUCK AS$
