Halo 5 may miss release in 2014

Halo 5 will not release in 2014 if Steve Downes, voice actor behind Master Chief, is to be believed but he does expected Halo 2 Anniversary to make it out during 2014.

"I think you may be ahead of yourself on Halo 5. I wouldn't expect anything until 2015. What you can look forward to this year is an anniversary edition of Halo 2."Steve Downes


In January there were reports that Halo 5 was still on track for a 2014 release window and at the time a Senior PR manager at Microsoft said the following, ""rest assured your next Halo journey WILL begin in 2014." It now seems he was hinting at Halo 2 Anniversary Edition. While Halo 2 Anniversary hasn't been formally announced it has been hinted at time and time again by various sources that it is in the pipeline for release sometime in the near future.

What are you more excited for, Halo 5 or Halo 2 Anniversary Edition?

Better they take time on it. I'm sure die hard fans can suffice with Halo 2 Anniversary whenever it comes out.

I hope if this is the case, it'll be one of the games Microsoft are releasing on the 360 too. I was happy when they said they'd still be releasing games for the 360 but there's been very few so far.

Yes!!! Let Halo2 be out by itself for a while. 343i Are just rushing things too fast I reckon! They should do what Bungie done and release Halo games times by time :)

DJSLobbies Im loosing interesting in Halo , thay buzz of it being released this year and now it wont be.


I'ts because they know that no matter what they try to add to a game it will NEVER be as good and as fun as halo 2, in a lot of peoples opinions it was the best game created and i agree, H2A was something people wanted since the OGXbox servers were shut down, and i cant wait, hopefully it has multiplayer

I honestly don't like Halo, but I can admit they are well produced games. Halo 2 was a great game, so if they make an anniversary one, I might buy :D

I honestly think this is great, i dont approve of sequels being released a year after the previous game. Theyre doing the right thing here, definitely worth the wait in my opinion.

If it makes sure that the game is better then releasing it within one year like CoD and Battlefield then I'm ok with waiting an extra year.
