Thief sneaks in 1080p for PS4 while Xbox One lags at 900p

Thief is due to be released on February 25th, it has came to light that the PS4 version will render at 1080p while it's Xbox One counterpart will only turn up at 900p.

The slight gap between resolutions was announced by the game's Publisher, Square Enix, in a recent chat with a leading gaming news venue. They go on to state the difference is so minute that you would *need* really good sight to spot the disparity. While he admits there is a difference albeit slight between the PS4 and Xbox One he goes on to tell gamers that the biggest jump in quality for Thief will be from the previous generation of consoles versus the latest and greatest from Sony and Microsoft.

I was think the same thing that how it seem to me though


This game has a more "sneaky/stealth" theme to it. Asassin's Creed lets you go stealth or just straight up.


Yea so basically there like kinda the same game

That's not true at all, people can see the difference between 1080p and 4k. There is definately a difference between 720p and 1080p.
I'm not sure where you heard that lie.


720p and 1080p is barely noticeable. The edges are sharper but it's nothing that's too drastic for someone to say "wow, what an improvement!" So yea.

There is a huge difference, go and look at a 720p and 1080p side by side in a store, the difference is worthwhile.


I'm curious, do people notice a major difference when playing on 900p and 1080p? Not a side-by-side comparison, you could then distinguish the difference. Like if you were to be playing 900p on PC but many others around you could easily mistaken it as a higher resolution. Or do I need glasses?

I think you guys mean you can't tell the difference between UPSCALED 1080p and Full HD 1080p. You can most definitely tell the difference between using 720p and 1080p, but not between UPSCALED resolution like 1080p Upscaled. It's just that game don't use 720 standard anymor to be fair. they're all upscaled and that's why the difference is minimal.

I agree that you cannot tell the difference between 900p and 1080p. it's barely noticeable even if you strain your eyes to see the missing detail.

However Microsoft are getting their 'Upscaler' updated soon so the game will look better.

Kurumu I am very disappointed at TTG lately with these articles they have been putting out for the PlayStation news. I guarantee the xbox version will not lag it will more than likely be at 60FPS the resolution thing is all due to the devs. There is no reason for the console to run at 900p when the PS4 runs at 1080p and for those who say it is because the PS4 has better specs go look up the specs of both systems. The difference between the two is not that much. This type of bull **** should not occur the devs need to get their **** together tired of this one sided **** **** they want to give to the xbox. Complete load of horse ****.

It does seem that way doesn't it. Obvious pissed off because he invested $100 more into a less powerful machine.
