EA server hacked and used for phishing

4.2
Recently a Electronic Arts server was used in attempts to trick users via phishing. The compromised server was used in phishing attempts relating to Apple ID and other information viable in identity theft. The server in question was hosting two websites from EA, they were purportedly running outdated software with widely known security issues.

The phishing site attempts to trick a victim into submitting his Apple ID and password. It then presents a second form which asks the victim to verify his full name, card number, expiration date, verification code, date of birth, phone number, mother's maiden name, plus other details that would be useful to a fraudster. After submitting these details, the victim is redirected to the legitimate Apple ID website.Netcraft

-CP You have to be a complete moron to fall for these failed phishing attempts. Any idiot can clearly see the sketchy url......

Well sometimes it slips past you and you cant see it. Good thing I heard about this

Not to mention it was running on legitimate looking sites. And that it did take you where you were wanting to go after filling it out. I mean, how many people fill out a form to go to apple's site then get there and think it was a scam? These kind of things just prove that you shouldn't trust anyone on the web.

It doesn't just "slip past you". If you're stupid enough to put your personal information into a webpage with a URL that clearly doesn't represent Apple, nor Origin from an email that doesn't mention any of your personal information, you deserve to have your credentials taken. Natural selection, baby.

wooowww.... you act as though everyone on the internet has studied signs of what to and what not to look for. If it looks legit, it can even trick intelligent people, even if by mistake, couldve happened to you. The fact that your name is "CP" is creepy though...

Who can be this **** stupid? You never have to enter a card in again unless at time
Of check out you entered it wrong or you then have to buy another item. But yeah EA is a terrible company when it comes to well about anything.
