Microsoft: Gamers Spend 5 Hours a Day on Xbox One

During Microsoft’s quarterly earnings conference call Chief Financial Officer Amy Hood mentioned that ad revenue on Xbox Platforms has increased.

In addition to that, she gave some more information about the engagement of users with the new console and promised better services, especially outside the US:

"Xbox One has sold-in over five million units since launch, and engagement has been high, with users spending nearly five hours per day on their console. We will continue to extend the unique value proposition of the Xbox One, particularly in markets outside the US."

"Xbox 360 exceeded our expectations this quarter, and across the platform, Xbox Live members continue to embrace the service, with transactional revenue growing 17%. We do expect to work through some inventory in Q4."

I've been waiting to see how the console's progress to buy one and I'm definitely leaning towards the Xbox One now.

I spend a lot of time on my Xbox One because its what I enjoy :) Cant wait for some upcoming games like Watchdogs!

just play 5 hours everyday and you'll get 35 hours but if you think about weekends it will be longer than 5 hours... I play about 5-6 hours a day and on weekends about 7-9 hours give or take if i go out to the strange world.
you have no life if your playing 7-9 hours a day


Now thats un-called for. How do you know he doesn't live out of town where it is hard to see his friends?


even then, most of my friends have gone off to colleges out of town or the military and im in college myself and get roughly five hours a day and about 8 or 9 on weekends


If you spend 7-9 hours each day on the weekend , why dont you go outside? actually see the world?


Only thing I enjoy about the world is Sunlight, Family, Fresh Air and the distinct sound of a Flip Flop being run over by a lawnmower during the Summer time.

I actually have more fun with my XBL friends than with my "real" friends.

Plus %95 of the people in my town are pot smoking hill billy's who look like the inside of a Sarlaac Pit.


you hit the nail on the head!! going out in rain and cold is so shite! half of the people smoke weed and cigarettes its disgusting! summer time is for footy etc and chilling with mates, xbox and gaming much more enjoyable than smoking weed and getting pissed every week :|

Theres nothing to see in the world plus 5 hours a day on Xbox isn't even alot lol.


8 hours sleeping + 9 hours playing games still leaves 6 hours to go outside and do stuff with friends. Not really a small window.
