Xbox One announcements to come before E3

Xbox head Phil Spencer has confirmed Microsoft will announce 'a couple of things' before E3 2014.

Writing on Twitter, Spencer addressed fan queries regarding the company's showing at E3 2014, promising a big 'fan focused' year with plenty of high profile announcements.

Spencer confirmed Microsoft will announce new studios it is working with at E3, adding that what the company shows will reflect "stuff we are committed to, from top studios, for this year and future."

Meanwhile, 'a couple of things' will be announced before E3 2014, which takes place June 10-12 in Los Angeles. "May should be a good month for news," he said. "Took me a month to get plans set."

Spencer also commented on the Japanese presence on Xbox One, promising that "you won't have to wait until TGS [Tokyo Games Show]" for news.''

While he's not yet allowed to talk about any unannounced projects by 343 Industries, Spencer did promise in February that there will be news on the Halo series at E3.

"Halo news will be coming at E3," Spencer wrote.

"343i [343 Industries] has a great plan in place, will be cool to share with everyone."

Microsoft is yet to announce details on its E3 press conference. Ubisoft has confirmed a June 9 media briefing.

um i dont think they can just update old games like that


Why wouldn't they be able to? Just make an update on the game and voila.


Exactly, because it's just that simple. Hell, while they're at it they should come out with a microwave update, I'm sick of having to leave my lazyboy to heat up a hotdog.

Once we get DX12, developers will have more room to mess around in, and hopefully they releases those resolutions bumps. I don't know if DX12 is going to be as huge of a performance improvement as they make it seem, but anything is better than 900p on COD.


It will be pretty substantial, however the focus of DX12 is about making more of a improvement to enabling future technologies.

I know. I'm pretty pumped for the new Halo. They are always great games.


Yeah, I have played each Halo and i've never had a single issue with one. Heck, I even go back to my 360 on a regular basis just to play some Halo. I miss the Halo 3, 2009 days


Definitely, playing custom games with friends was the best.
