Destiny beta confirmed for July

Destiny's beta test will start in July, Activision announced Tuesday.

The publisher revealed the date during a presentation on its first-quarter 2014 financial results. The studio previously announced that it would open up the beta for its multiplayer shooter in summer.

The Destiny beta will be available first to PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 owners, Bungie confirmed in November 2013.

Bungie has also released a new 7-minute gameplay video of the game in action, showcasing a Strike mission, which sees three players co-operate to complete a designated task.

The publisher announced on Tuesday that it had invested $500 million into the Destiny franchise, saying that "the stakes for us are getting bigger."

Destiny will release for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on September 9.

well i dont know why. hmmmmmmm maybe because xbox sucked them dry through 10 years of the making in halo games.

Well you kinda just answered it there. Xbox users always get everything first so they are used to it so when Sony get something before them you can expect a bit of complaining.

I hope that unlike the Halo series, there are attachments, etc. to pick from.
