Xbox One without Kinect coming June 9

Microsoft has announced that it will release a new lineup of Xbox One consoles that do not include the Kinect motion-sensing peripheral.

Starting June 9, Microsoft will offer Kinect-less Xbox One hardware bundles at $399 in North America and £349 in the UK. Microsoft cites customer feedback as the driving force behind the Xbox One's new hardware options.

The Kinect was bundled with every Xbox One sold since the console's launch last year. A standalone Xbox One Kinect sensor will be released at retail this fall.

This sucks for all the people that they forced to buy the Kinect as the only option and then to just get rid of it. It definitely makes the console more competitive with the PS4 because it can be put at that price point. I am really glad that they decided to not make the DVD drive free one that was rumored last year as the value bundle.

Kinect is an important part of the xbox one and anyone who says they don't use it are usually the same people who have trouble adjusting to new situations and learning simple commands. I personally do not have a game that I use the kinect but I still have use it every day. Although I do get use from it, I understand that some people may not be able to afford an extra $100 dollars for the new console. Basically people who say they do not like the connect have either not tried to be open minded with it or are just too dumb to understand it.

Kinect 2.0 is brilliant. But if people want just the console at least there's an option for them too.

Wish I could've had this option, my Kinect sits and collects dust. Its worthless.

Maggardo Finally! The should've had an option, with an Xbox One, and no kinect, since the very beginning.


Maybe by them doing so, they wanted to throw in the kinect to show how they ``improved`` the kinect. Personally i don`t think that it was necessary for them to even bother to put it as a bundle, but the did. The should of just kept it simple in the first place and made it 399.99.


Exactly, nobody really wanted the Kinect. It wasn't necessary for them to throw it in with the Xbox One.
