Xbox Live Gold unlocked on Xbox 360 this weekend

Xbox Live Gold services will be unlocked on Xbox 360 this weekend in the UK.

Microsoft says: "Try Xbox Live Gold membership at no additional cost on the Xbox 360 platform only from 12:00PM (GMT) on Friday 23rd May 2014 to 23:59 (GMT) on Sunday 25th May 2014."

Microsoft has made a number of significant announcements over the past few weeks, headlined by its decision to release an Xbox One without Kinect for the first time beginning in June.

From next month, the company will no longer gate entertainment apps behind an Xbox Live Gold subscription. It will offer a refund to current subscribers who no longer wish to use the service in light of the upcoming changes.

Games with Gold will also launch on Xbox One next month with Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault. June's Xbox 360 Games with Gold offering will include free Dark Souls, Charlie Murder and Super Street Fighter IV downloads. A single Gold membership will provide owners with access to the free games for both Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Titled 'Game On', Microsoft's E3 2014 media briefing will begin on June 9 at 9:30am PT / 12:30am ET / 5:30pm BST.

I feel like microsoft doing this is just an attempt to get more people to buy xbox live gold.


Because the US get more **** than us. For FREE so about time we get something.

I don't see why this would make a difference. US customers get way more freebies than any other country on Xbox. Also on Memorial Day Weekend, should you not be giving your respects to the men and women who died while serving? So why don't you do that instead of playing games for a weekend.

Memorial Day is only one day, so why cant he play games on the weekend and then "show Support" on monday....


You can show support anytime of the year if you wish too. But this weekend is dedicated to those who died. So you at least expect said person or anyone to pay their respects.
