Microsoft releases Xbox One controller drivers for PC

4.6
Microsoft has released a set of drivers that enable Xbox One controller support for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows PCs.

The Xbox One controller works with any game that currently features support for the Xbox 360 controller. After installing Microsoft's drivers, players can immediately start using the Xbox One controller in compatible games and apps by connecting it via a micro USB cable.

Native controller support will be featured in a future Windows update, but Microsoft notes that it wanted to push out updated drivers as soon as possible in order to let users "play their favorite PC games with what we consider the best controller ever made."

Gossip I never really like playing PC cause of the keyboards.. now I don't have to use it.

thats retarded lol

I know. With the exception of a few bad ports to pc, using a controller would put you in a huge disadvantage. The mouse and keyboard can be far more precise if used properly.

Kurisu How is nobody mentioning the extreme halo 2 anniversary tease.

I know right. Tho it is likely a tease, it could also just be showing that the new surface pro 3 can handle games like halo 2. with controller support. Because the new halo stuff is supposed to be XBox one. and this is a PC =p

Can handle games "like Halo 2."

I thought most smart phones could run Halo 2. I'm pretty sure I've seen videos of BF4 on the Surface.
BF4 would be so hard as it would be getting terrible frames on low. It wouldn't be playable on a decent graphical setting.

Wait is that controller plugged into a tablet? But that's pretty cool if you can use your controller as a console like thing haha.

CyberPunk I dont get why so many are saying "YAY il get a controller just for this" You do realise PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers work on PC anyway... Just a usb connection , heck even Play and charge kits let you use a wireless 360 controller and theyre dirty cheap second hand or even new now :S

Play n Charge kits don't work, the cable is single ended and doesn't transfer any data. And why? The new controllers are improved a lot and people would rather use the new ones than the old ones. I know I do.

Can you use it without the cable so wireless

Why not just use an X360 controller?
No point in spending more money on a new controller when the old wired ones work perfectly fine? (And they're cheaper!)
