Diablo 3 runs at 1080p on PS4, 900p on Xbox One

Blizzard told Joystiq that it is "prioritizing frame rate" when it comes to optimizing the new-gen console versions of the action RPG. That means a 900p resolution for the Xbox One version while the PS4 version will render at a full 1080p.

Blizzard announced in May that Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Ultimate Evil Edition will release August 19. In addition to PS4 it will also launch for PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

As the title suggests, the game will feature both the core Diablo 3 game as well as the recent Reaper of Souls expansion, which has already released for PC.

The PS4 and Xbox One versions will also boast full character transfer options from the last-gen versions.

The PlayStation versions will include an exclusive mission where players can battle clickers and other infected from The Last of Us.

It is unfair that PS4 is getting the better quality, although it doesn't make much of a difference.

Maggardo That's not much of a difference. I can't even see the difference between 1080p, and 720p. So I know I can't tell the difference between 1080p and 900p.

Doesn't matter, the PS4 is still more powerful than the Xbox One. The Kinect makes no difference.


I really don't understand why people care about "Console" graphics so much they will always be garbage compared to PC. Just play and stop complaining. Even during a console war Xbox will still be the better console in terms of games. More exclusives, DLC before any other console, More Games. It's hardly even debatable.

360 - Halo, Gears, Forza, Fable
PS3- Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet, The Last of Us, Gran Turismo, Infamous, Resistance, etc

But yeah, I assume that the 3 good exclusive series (maybe 4, but Fable hasn't had a good game since Fable 2) Xbox had competed with PS4's 6.

The problem with MS is that they pay for third-party studios to produce one exclusive game for their console, but afterwards, these studios realize they can release games multi-platform and gain more money. Thus, they do so (Mass Effect, Bioshock, etc).

However, Sony actually has their own first-party developers, so they can create games that will always stay exclusive to their console.
How about we stop with the dang console wars, they really are getting old! As for the exclusives, both consoles have a ton, and Microsoft has their own studio called Microsoft studios..... In the end it comes down to your preference of the games and how many of your friends play that console

i picked up a ps4 today because of this im tired of the bs with xb1. first of all there dropping the kinnect us early adapters had to pay a exstra 100$ for. Second nothing runs at 1080p besides racing games i mean come on couldn't get diablo to 1080???. Third i plugged my new ps4 in today and it had everything right out of the box like dolby,real friends names etc...no waiting for monthly updates for basic features.

I highly doubt I will ever get this game any ways. Never been that big of fan of the Diablo series.
