Destiny beta 'begins late July' on Xbox systems

The Destiny beta takes off on Xbox One and 360 in late July, according to a trailer on the Xbox One dashboard. As per PS3 and PS4, players get beta codes by pre-ordering Bungie's shooter, while an Xbox Live Gold subscription is also required.

The Destiny beta is scheduled for a PlayStation landing on July 17, after Bungie gave PS4 players a taste of the game's persistent-world space-roving action in the alpha earlier this month. If you missed it, you can always live it through the eyes and pop-and-lock skills of Team Joystiq in our recorded stream. Or you could just get the t-shirt.

Destiny - the game proper that is - hits Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 9.

To create suspense! Also, if they leave it "late July" that gives them some time to work with rather than saying "it will be up tomorrow" there would be an outrage if they said that and then didn't release it.

I really don't like the way they are doing beta testing. Xbox is getting the shit end of the deal on this one.
