Destiny has a cave-shaped loot exploit

Remember how Bungie wanted each piece of loot in Destiny to have a "badass story" attached to it so badly that it scrapped player-to-player trades? A new exploit documented by Force Strategy Gaming (video posted below the break) flies in the face of such hopes, as the trick lets Guardians mow down continuously-spawning waves of enemies to amass a pile of loot for everyone in the vicinity.

The exploit involves a cave found on Old Russia, which Acolytes and Thralls spawn and rush forward from in waves. In order for the trick to work, players need to stand back far enough to allow spawns to keep happening, while ensuring that a lone enemy doesn't escape and go hide behind cover, therefore hindering future spawns.

For a sense of what to expect, Force Strategy Gaming claims that 15 minutes worth of shooting rewarded them with stacks of green Engrams, as well as a few blue and legendary-tier pieces. The same area occasionally plays host to a public event however, so bringing backup would be wise.

I think Bungie may have altered something to prevent this from being farmed. I tried it not that long ago and it was no longer working the way it was. Instead of a constant stream of Thrall and Acolytes, it was just 3 or 4 Acolytes about every 10 seconds...way less loot opportunity, and the cycle is interrupted about every 5 minutes by thrall coming out of the alien cave to the right that do not re-spawn. Then the cycle goes back to just a few acolytes. Maybe it was just the server I was on, but it was not the way it was earlier in the day.

Trust me destiny is far better than solitaire.
I don't see how you could hate such a good game. Yeah it isn't the game to die for but it certainly isn't a bad game.

Its been know for a while. Anytime you go there, it will be 4 ppl doing it

Seffean If people put as much time into farming into earning reputation/marks then they would all have lengendarys lol..


Not really, if your cryptarch is at least level 5 or so, you can get a full inventory of legendaries in maybe 1-2 hours. You need to level up your crucible handlers/guilds to buy legendaries, and you can only get 100 marks a week for crucible and vanguard. So you can only buy so much per week.


Utter rubbish ...A full inventory of legendaries ?? Not likely you get 1-3 per 2 hours at best.


Within 5 hours of farming, not only did I get about 100+ Blues, I got about 20 Legendaries.

No one cares. Sad you can't enjoy the game the way it was meant to be played lol (: oh well, does ruin my fun xD


Trust me I enjoy the game, and in what way is it meant to be played? I farmed for 1 hour a day for 5 days, I mostly do strikes and bounties, and play Crucible occasionally. Having better gear makes the game more fun to me, but we all have our own preferences haha
