Destiny has a cave-shaped loot exploit

4.5
Remember how Bungie wanted each piece of loot in Destiny to have a "badass story" attached to it so badly that it scrapped player-to-player trades? A new exploit documented by Force Strategy Gaming (video posted below the break) flies in the face of such hopes, as the trick lets Guardians mow down continuously-spawning waves of enemies to amass a pile of loot for everyone in the vicinity.

The exploit involves a cave found on Old Russia, which Acolytes and Thralls spawn and rush forward from in waves. In order for the trick to work, players need to stand back far enough to allow spawns to keep happening, while ensuring that a lone enemy doesn't escape and go hide behind cover, therefore hindering future spawns.

For a sense of what to expect, Force Strategy Gaming claims that 15 minutes worth of shooting rewarded them with stacks of green Engrams, as well as a few blue and legendary-tier pieces. The same area occasionally plays host to a public event however, so bringing backup would be wise.

They'll end up patching it today because everyone feels the need to spread it.

I really don't like Destiny, and all the hype before it came out was just for nothing in my eyes. Its boring and just slow to me. We all have opinions :)

I've been using this to get ascendent shards to level up, it's super helpful.

I know what I'm gonna be doing today

In no way an exploit. This doesn't bend the games rules. Enemies spawn die drop loot. Good job there's more than one spot.

Dingers I think Bungie may have altered something to prevent this from being farmed. I tried it not that long ago and it was no longer working the way it was. Instead of a constant stream of Thrall and Acolytes, it was just 3 or 4 Acolytes about every 10 seconds...way less loot opportunity, and the cycle is interrupted about every 5 minutes by thrall coming out of the alien cave to the right that do not re-spawn. Then the cycle goes back to just a few acolytes. Maybe it was just the server I was on, but it was not the way it was earlier in the day.

make sure you kill all the enemies in surrounding area what i did then they constantly spawned after that!!

Ache I can't see why players can't just play the game and enjoy it.. There was no need for him to make a video of the exploit and share it with the world.

Just enjoy the game and play it as it was meant to be played.

Well it isn't an exploit and I'm sure many people knew about this before he posted it. I looked at the date he made the video and my friend knew about this 3 hours before he posted it

And to add on to my first comment how else do you get engrams in this game? YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO FARM THEM. THIS IS FARMING NOT EXPLOITATION.

Man some people...smh that's all i can say.

How is this considered an exploit? You're farming a cave where enemies keep spawning out of. Farming a spawn isn't exploiting.

I did this the past three days, and it was always like that for me. Every about 7 seconds (enough for me to reload), the enemies would respawn. I've never had a constant stream.
