Assassin's Creed Unity is 900p, 30fps on PS4, Xbox One

Assassin's Creed Unity will render at 900p resolution and run at 30 frames-per-second on both PS4 and Xbox One, senior producer Vincent Pontbriand has revealed.

He explained that the game could run at "100 fps if it was just graphics", but not while managing the detailed AI processes that simulate the game's massive crowds and individual citizens.

"We were quickly bottlenecked by that and it was a bit frustrating, because we thought that this was going to be a tenfold improvement over everything AI-wise, and we realized it was going to be pretty hard," Pontbriand said. "It's not the number of polygons that affect the frame rate."

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag also ran at 900p and 30 frames-per-second on both systems when it launched last year. However, a post-launch update bumped the PS4 version's resolution up to 1080p.

The Assassin's Creed Unity's release date is November 11 in North America, November 13 in Europe and November 14 in the UK.

I thought next gen was about having all these max quality games...Might as-well just get a PC. Next gen isn't worth it at all. I'll stick with my old consoles and computer thanks.

The consoles are capable of 1080p 60fps but it's up to the developers of the game if they want it to run at that resolution and framerate.

not sure why people have been buying this shitty series? the series has just gotten worse since the first game.

AC = best

AC2 = just little bit behind the first

ACB= Not bad

ACR = boring

AC3 = had better hopes for what it turned out to be

AC4 = WTF is this shit?

There could be a reason for this all I know is that there is going to be a lot more stuff I'm this assassins creed then the others what means less space, it's not that bad and I'm sure they will touch it up a little more before or after the release, Also I'm sure you won't notice it that much and I'm still sure that the game is going to be good, yeah not the best with frame rate but it is what it is.

the dev stright up said it could have been 1080 on the ps4 but they wanted to avoid arguments. So dont get your hopes up and ps4 still runs most of its games at 1080 i own the one and im not afraid to admit this.


It was all the bragging and insulting that people were doing, so they decided to do this. It could have looked 2% percent better on PS4, but people have to be smug about it.
