Member Review: Razer Nabu

4.3
The Razer Nabu is Razer's entry into the smart wearables competition hoping to compete with some of the others on the market. The watch it self is very minimalist; it is sleek and it weighs almost nothing. It does everything a normal watch does and a little bit more. Some of the things the watch can do include displaying missed notifications from your smart phone, monitoring your sleep patterns, counting steps taken, and estimating calories burned. The watch itself boasts a 128x32 pixel OLED screen. This might sound small, but it's very clear when displaying your notifications. It also sports a lithium-polymer battery so it can last up to five to seven days on a single charge. The watch is also IP54 water resistant so it can survive the shower, washing your hands, and those rainy days. The Nabu is also scratch and shatter resistant for those who are the type that break their phones. It is also said to come in four different colors: black, white, green, orange. I was given black as early access users had no choice in color.

Now, the Nabu is an amazing product and I think everyone should have one, but it isn't for everyone and here's why: The watch itself is a one size fits most and they provide an alternate clip for those of you who have smaller wrists. But for those who have large wrists, the Nabu isn't for you. The Nabu also isn't for those who hate being tracked, and not location tracked, I mean fitness tracking. It tracks distance traveled, calories burned, steps taken, minutes asleep, and minutes active. The ideal buyer of the watch would be someone who is always on the go or someone wanting to get the latest tech on their wrist. The Razer Nabu is also an amazing product for someone looking to get a small, sleek watch or get into the wearables game.

Unboxing Photos:

Pros and Cons:
Pros:
Slim and sleek compared to other wearables.
Doubles as fitness band.
Water proof unlike competition.
Crystal clear display.
Stylish, makes you look dapper
Works on all mobile platforms (iOS,Android, Windows)
Works on both wrists

Cons
Not very well known.
Final price. (said to be around $120)
Small color choice.
Only comes in 2 sizes.
Easy to adjust.

Final Score:
8/10

The Razer Nabu is rated an 8 out of 10 because it is an amazing product and is great for anyone looking to get into the wearable technology scene, but the watch really misses that extra feature to bump it up the extra two points.

Nice review, would be cool to see the smaller wrist strap thing or whatever.
My wrists are... well... small.

Cheaper than Nike's version, but I do believe the reason that Nike's is so expensive is because it directly intergrates with iOS. But this works with iOS, Android and Windows so it's a big step up! Razer produces some quality software to benefit from their hardware, too.

I have always been very interested in the emerging technology of wearables and have been very interested in purchasing something along these lines as of late. This should prove to help me out a fair lot in deciding what to actually purchase, thanks potion

r00t Sub-$100 is a good price, but the screen needs some anti-aliasing and better fonts.

The display is actually a lot more clear looking in person, my camera just doesn't do the job. As for extra fonts the SDK is open to all so I'm sure they will roll in soon.

Side Note: Thanks everyone else who commented it's my first review.
