New internet TV service coming to Xbox One

4.7
Microsoft announced that a new internet TV service called "Sling TV" will be coming to US Xbox One owners in early 2015.

A partnership with Dish is bringing the new subscription based live internet TV service, which will offer streams of major cable channels. The cost of the service will be $20 per month with channels including ESPN, ESPN2, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Cartoon Network, and Disney Channel.

The new service will launch on Xbox One first, then possibly followed by other devices. All Xbox Live members will be getting an extended one month free trial at launch.

That's not bad. $20 per month. I might have to try this.

Hate the fact most of the good apps are only for US and not UK.

This looks decent, should be good for us.

There is some nice channels there but it sucks it isn't for the UK as I would get it myself.

Edgy Its a good idea pretty cheap for the consumer and with many people not watching tv that much including myself would rather pay less or even tell your parents and have them pay less, eventually making the console more family friendly by making the parents use the Xbox One to watch tv.

Maybe if it had. Good selection of channels. Hopefully there will be tons more.

I think that I saw on another website that for $5 extra they will include more premium packages, and that $20 was the basic package.

I am certainly interested in trying this. But last trial I attempted ended up charging me two days later

That's pretty cool, I'll check it out since we get a one month trial.

I think is a good thing but 360 needs this too :(

Edgy Wow they wanna take over soo bad.

Who does? Dish? This is Dish's service and I'm sure Microsoft are paying them to have it on the One.

No i mean with Xbox trying to add stuff they dont need to in hopes to make money.

Microsoft probably is making little to no money whatsoever on this. It's Dish that is doing it. It is also available just on a PC.
